President's Message
ARMA's opening video in San Antonio made a big splash with attendees this year. The music was a combination of three songs: Robot Rock and Technologic by Daft Punk and You Spin Me Right Round by Dead Or Alive. ARMA International has posted the graphics and music on ARMA's website - http://www.arma.org/conference/2006/index.cfm. This site also offers links to interviews, comments from the floor, and content from the Exclusively IT sessions on ARMA International’s podcast at www.arma.org/podcast. Judge Scheindlin's keynote address script, slidepresentation, and audio Q&A session are also available.
Iron Mountain and Business Week are co-sponsoring a complimentary webinar "A Conversation with Shira Scheindlin: How Courts Will View Rule 26" Judge Judge Scheindlin is the author of the case law landmark Zubulake v. Warburg LLC opinions on e-discovery. An invitation to the December 7th webinar can be found at this link www.businessweek.com/go/crmrule26/.
The Birmingham Chapter of ARMA has made donations to the Jimmie Hale Mission and Jessie's Place for their needs at this holiday time. Each organization received $250.
Birmingham ARMA will not have a regular meeting again until January 18th, 2007. We will meet at Vestavia Country Club in the Windsor Room. Our speaker will be Alton Sizemore with Summerford Accountancy. A favorite speaker from last year, Alton will give an updated presentation on forensic computer and electronic discovery. Luncheon begins at 11:30 and the meeting starts around 12:00. There is a $15 cost for luncheon and no-shows will be billed since we have to pay for all confirmed orders. A reminder and reservation request will be sent out closer to the meeting date.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
