President's Message

Greetings!

The Birmingham Chapter has just concluded a great calendar year! We've added new members and reenergized existing members. A quick word of THANKS! to several of our vendor members who have been extremely active in spreading the word of our chapter to their own clientele.

Our program for January will be somewhat different since we are changing the location to Alabama Power Company's headquarters office at 600 North 18th Street. The date will be the third Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 instead of 11:30. There is no set menu but there is a food court in the building serving pizza, meat and vegetables, salads and soups along with many other offerings. Brown-bag it or try the food court and meet with us in the Electra Room at 11:00 a.m. Both the food court and the Electra Room are located at the lobby level of APCO. Upon entering the front door, the Electra Room is to your right while the food court is located in the back of the lobby area. We have changed the time of luncheon to 11:00 a.m. to avoid encountering long lines at the food court. The meeting will then begin about 11:30. Limited parking is available on the street and there is a parking lot on the corner of 6th and 18th next to and across the street from APCO.

At this meeting, we will vote on whether or not to permanently move our meeting place to APCO instead of continuing to meet at the Vestavia Country Club. There are pros and cons to both choices which we will discuss and vote on in January.

Our speaker for January will be Mike Woods, Coordinator, Business Continuity for Alabama Power Company. There is no reservation required or set cost since it's BYOF (Bring-Your-Own-Food)! For additional information, please contact Alice Payne.
