President's Message

Our regular ARMA meetings begin again on September 21 at 11:30. This month's speaker is Kirsten Givhan, Business Continuity Analyst, Corporate Information Security, Regions Financial and our topic is Planning for Disaster Recovery. We will have a general overview of the components needed to plan for recovery after a regional event or disaster. After the regular meeting, we will adjourn to a workshop (about 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.) addressing specific questions and answers to handling the loss of a building or access to the building after such an event. The regular meeting is free but the workshop will cost $20 for Birmingham ARMA members and $25.00 for non-members. For additional information, click here.

We are still meeting at Alabama Power Company’s headquarters office, 600 18th St. N. but we will be in Training Room 4B on the 4th floor. Check in at the guard’s desk in the lobby then use the 1st bank of elevators to go to the 4th floor, Training Room 4B. If desired, visit the food court, get a carry out lunch and bring it to the room. The Training Room will be open for lunch at 11:00 a.m.

While lunch will not be served and is 'bring your own,' Brasfield & Gorrie will provide afternoon refreshments. A brochure on the workshop is available from the September information on the MEETINGS page of our website. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
