President's Message
Our next ARMA meeting is Thursday, March 15th, at Vestavia Country Club. Lunch begins at 11:30 in the Windsor Room.
Our speaker this month is Bruce Avilla with N&L Enterprises. His topic will be 'Document Capture Strategies for Today' and will cover:
Full Text Searchable document creation
Indexing using Zone OCR
Indexing using Bar codes
Indexing using Cover Pages
Using Real Time Database Lookup for speeding the index process
Using Pattern Matching to produce index results
How Separator sheets can speed the scan process
Dedicated Scanners vs. Networked Multi-Function Digital Copier/scanners
Bruce will discuss the processes and challenges involved in converting paper documents into digital files. He will also be demonstrating high speed scan processing on a 90-page-per-minute scanner, as well has showing units capable of 40 and 50 pages per minute.
Please email me by March 13th to confirm your attendance. The cost for lunch is $15.00 and please remember no-shows will be billed since ARMA has to pay for the number of reserved meals.
